The interface utilizes a sophisticated language model to optimize efficiency by predicting how much space should be allocated to various text pieces. More probable or frequently used phrases are granted larger areas for easier selection, while less common or problematic text—such as those containing spelling errors—occupies smaller spaces, making them less accessible. Notably, the model continuously adapts; novel vocabulary becomes progressively easier to access with subsequent usage.

A significant strength of Dasher over traditional predictive text systems lies in its mode-free operation, allowing users to write without needing to switch between modes for input and prediction acceptance. This streamlined approach enhances the overall user experience.

This version of Dasher is a port from the original iPhone application, which is no longer compatible with iOS 11.
